Potato Head Suites

Ancient craftsmanship. Modern aesthetics.


A centre for balance, Potato Head Suites was designed in collaboration with architect Andra Matin and built from materials drawn from Mother Earth. Over 1.8 million terracotta bricks were hand-crafted by artisans in the village of Darmasaba to form the building’s walls. The 57 suites within them are bright, spacious and filled with new-and-old treasures from around Indonesia. They are made to feel like home.

Ancient healing takes place in the spa; the palm-lined swimming pool and private bar is Seminyak’s true answer to an oasis. Positioned at the heart of our Desa, but tucked away in its own pocket of tranquility, it’s the perfect place to go inward, exhale and recharge.

Aromatherapy

A ceramic base handmade in Ubud by Gaya Ceramic and Design with a reed diffuser and custom Bali-inspired scent by Japanese brand retaW.

Anjat Beach Set

A backpack and wide-brim hat woven in Borneo by its indigenous Dayak people.

Tarum Textiles

Botanically tinted, hand-woven rugs, linens and tapestries from Bali’s natural-dye house Tarum.

A thoughtfully curated selection of vintage books sourced from across Indonesia.

Jengki Furniture

Custom-made in Surabaya from handpicked teak, Jengki furniture recalls a rebellious ‘yankee’ spirit local designers felt after independence from the Dutch; the mid-century modern style reflects the colonial influence.

Ata Basketry

Bins, baskets and trays made by Bali’s native people using a labour-intensive hand-woven process using local orchid vines.
